Concert safety during COVID-19

Learn more about concert safety during the Covid-19 global pandemic

Today we find ourselves in the midst of a global pandemic where shows keep getting cancelled because of authorities being concerned about medical safety.

At numerous concerts that I have been in the audience of before the pandemic, safety has previously been thorough and quite strict, but, in my opinion, now things have changed enormously.

In a time where our lives can be put in danger by close physical contact more than ever, we need to keep in mind that for our and the performer’s safety we are not only required to be mindful of others but also to follow the rules put in place by experienced people that know what is best for the specific situation we are in.

Some venues in the UK have adopted drive-in or social distancing concerts to avoid the virus spreading, while others just require temperature checks and wearing masks.

At the same time, in numerous European countries, “Green Passes” are shown at the door to be granted access to the venue. These passes are QR codes that, when scanned by security, show the person’s vaccination status and so prove that they are fit to enter the building minimizing the risk of endangering others.
